Update from the Business Office

Watchung Borough Families,

This week’s update is a brief one. First Student has printouts of our three remaining uncovered routes and is working on securing drivers for us. They have indicated that they may be able to help soon, but cannot give a specific date yet.

We have received several requests for parent contracts and are in the process of working with those families to obtain the state-required documentation. Once we receive all of the required documents, the contracts are presented to the board of education for approval and then to the county office. Once the county office has approved the contracts, we can begin making payments.

I hope to have new information regarding the remaining bus routes in time for next week’s update.

Enjoy your weekend.

Why is the Board of Education having a referendum?

The Board is committed to providing a first-rate educational experience for all students. In the development of its long-range facilities plan (LRFP), the board identified facility infrastructure and renovation projects that will allow the district to ensure the continued safe operation and maintenance of its school buildings and create new learning opportunities by transforming outdated rooms into 21st-century learning spaces.
