Update from the Superintendent
Dear Parents and School Community Members,
Before our students leave for the long weekend, we want to provide an update on our initiatives designed to expand and improve our communication with you. First, we have launched our Twitter accounts and invite you to follow us at @BayberryBears, @VVMountaineers, @Watchung_SpSvcs, and @Watchung_Supt. We also anticipate unveiling our new website on Monday, November 14. As we finalize the transition, the site may be down for a brief period of time over the weekend. We thank you in advance for your patience and are confident you will be better served by the new and improved website.
As for the referendum special election set for December 13, we want you to know that we received an updated tax impact summary and analysis, which can be accessed now on our current website. You will see that approval of Question 1 will carry an impact of $260 per year for the average household, and approval of both questions will result in a tax impact of $323 per year. You can learn more by visiting the district’s referendum web page.
Last, we are seeing a rise in flu cases, especially at Bayberry, and we encourage parents to keep their children home if they are sick when school resumes next week.
